Coin No. 1, the 1 EURO "A," was minted in 2002 at the Berlin Mint. During the minting process, the coin suffered a unique defect due to a misalignment of the plunger pair. On the obverse, a stylized eagle ("Bundesadler") raises its head and wings from the coin's surface, creating the impression of takeoff. The eagle's talons, stars, and year of minting are damaged.
Coin No. 2. 1 euro "G" was minted in 2002 at the Karlsruhe Mint. The coin suffered significant damage during the minting process. The inner insert was displaced and damaged. The image of the imperial eagle was damaged.
